After that date, the water stopped rising and is now slowly receding. The peak level is 74 cm lower than last year with a very high flood, and comparable with the floods in the years 2020-2021. It is expected that the flood will be at its maximum in Akka in the end of November and in Diré at the beginning of December.

Based on the current prediction, the south-western part of the Inner Niger Delta may become available for grazing cattle in December.
