The water level in Mopti has risen by 45 cm over the past week, and the rise in water levels has levelled off. The peak level is nearly reached. OPIDIN predicts that the water level in Mopti will only slightly increase the coming weeks and reach a moderate peak level as high as four years ago (2020, 2021), years with a moderate flood.

The water level in Mopti rose by 45 cm within a week, from 563 cm on 26 August to 608 cm on 7 September. That is, on average, over 3 cm a day. The water level this year in Mopti on 7 September is 37 lower than last year with a very high flood, but 64 higher than two years before when there was a low flood. OPIDIN predicts that the water level in Mopti will only slightly increase the coming weeks and reach a moderate peak level as high as four years ago (2020, 2021), years with a moderate flood.
